The NuWave Brio Air Fryer is so much more than just an air fryer. While you can still cook things like French fries and chicken nuggets in it, you can also do things like roast a chicken or bake a cake. It has a large 3 quart cooking basket that has plenty of room to cook food for the entire family, while still having compact dimensions that allow it to fit just about anywhere.

In this article, I’m going to be taking a closer look at the different features this air fryer has to offer, as well as going through a list of its pros and cons.

What is the NuWave Brio Air Fryer?

The NuWave Brio Air Fryer has many more capabilities than most other air fryers out there. In addition to being able to fry things like French fries, chicken wings, and pizza rolls without the use of fatty oils, this fryer can also do things like grill steaks, roast chicken, sauté veggies, and bake muffins. It even comes with accessories that are necessary to do these things like muffin cups, a baking pan, tongs, and more.

The dimensions of this fryer are pretty compact, so it can fit pretty much anywhere. Plus, it cooks food much faster since it is much smaller than a regular full sized oven. Don’t let the size fool you though. This fryer has a 3 quart cooking basket that is able to cook a lot of food at once, making it perfect for families or entertaining guests.

It is equipped with a modern LCD touchscreen control system that is much easier to use and more sleek looking than the old fashioned manual dial controls. Starting and stopping the fryer is as simple as the push of a button and so is setting the temperature, time, and cooking method. It is also equipped with an automatic shutoff function that powers off the fryer when you remove the cooking basket from it after your food finishes cooking.

This fryer chimes to let you know once you’ve got the basket in place, a feature that most other air fryers do not include. The basket is dishwasher safe too, although it is a wire basket, not the traditional metal holed basket that most other air fryers have. Even though it is safe to wash this basket in the dishwasher, it is not nonstick, so it is pretty difficult to clean and food can fairly easily get stuck to it. The best way to clean this type of basket is to soak it for a little while so that the food can detach from it and then run it through the dishwasher afterwards, which can become slightly tedious if you use the fryer a lot.

This fryer is pretty moderately priced. While it may not be the most affordable fryer out there, it is certainly not the most expensive either. It comes with a limited one year warranty to cover defects that may occur in the fryer for the first year that you own it. This fryer is only available in black.

Overall, I would say this is a pretty great air fryer. It has some very advanced controls and the capability to cook so much more than just typical “air fryer food”. This fryer has the potential to completely replace your oven actually depending on what types of things you normally bake in your oven. The fact that it comes with all of the accessories needed for baking, grilling, roasting, and sautéing is a huge plus too.

However, it is a pretty pricey fryer and the wire basket is a lot harder to clean than the nonstick metal baskets that other air fryers have. To me, the price is justifiable because of all of the capabilities this fryer has and because it includes all of those accessories. The hard to clean basket is the biggest downfall of this fryer, and it is definitely something to take into consideration before purchasing it.
