If the couple is really close to you and you want to make their anniversary special, then throw a surprise party for them. You can plan the party with the family and other friends of the couple. The theme can be “1960s to 1970s” – or a period when they were growing up. Invite friends of the couple that you can locate. Keep a dress code wherein everyone comes wearing the clothes that were popular during that era. The music at the party too should be in sync with the theme.

Today’s bride has definitely a lot to plan for. But when you still have months to go until the Big Day, you may find yourself wondering if there is anything that you can do now. A few months before my own wedding, I decided to start making gift baskets for out-of-town guests. It was a good idea because it gave me several months to gather items and starting early allowed me to concentrate on other things closer to my event. So, if you are trying to figure out what to do, start by preparing unique guest baskets! The following are some tips I hope you find helpful!

Or maybe you’re a little further along and you need some 5 year anniversary gifts for her. Well, let’s just breathe and remember that good anniversary gifts are not the first thing you find at the hardware store (unless she really loves power tools and hey, she might!). So return to the basics and think about personalizing something. Think about her likes and dislikes, think about those funny things that have happened to you over the years and how you could give her a reminder that will make her smile every time she glances at it.
Many of the brides I polled, chose Cuban cigars as a popular destination wedding favor.  I gave away cigars at my destination wedding reception in Mexico, and they were a huge hit so I can personally vouch for this idea.  You can hire a cigar roller at most destinations; but if you have budget constraints, you can just buy the cigars and display them in a personalized humidor, which you can then keep as your own wedding keepsake.  You can even get some personalized matches to go with the cigars.
One of the best gifts is to send the couple on a second honeymoon! (Make sure beforehand that they have not already planned one). So send them away for a fun weekend or if you can afford, an entire week, at a seaside resort or to a cozy cabin in the woods. Holidays are always a welcome change especially if they are planned by people who are close to you!
Here’s a DIY so simple even a man can do it. No offense to all the crafty men out there, but we have the feeling most of you don’t spend much time making lovey-dovey gifts. Get yourself some spray paint, glue, a piece of printer paper, a picture frame, and a bit of sandpaper—then look at the picture. It almost makes itself!
Pashmina shawls are another gift that female guests are always happy to receive. These are a perfect destination wedding favor, especially if you’re tying the knot on the beach or in a tropical location that has cool winds in the evening.  Dessy has pashmina shawls in almost every color under the sun.  But if you’re not as picky about the color, Beau-Coup has a pretty good selection of pashmina shawls at a slightly more affordable cost.  They have 6 different colors to choose from (aqua, pink, champagne, black, grey, ivory) and you can even have them customized with an embroidered monogram or other text.
